Safety Council Meeting FY25
Join us for our upcoming Safety Council meeting. These monthly meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month at the Neeley Center from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Just a friendly reminder, members of the safety council are required to attend a minimum of 10 meetings during the fiscal year 2025 to qualify for a rebate on their workers' compensation premium.
Topic of this meeting: Arc Flash Safety
Speaker: Julie E. VanDyne, P.E.Ms. VanDyne has been involved in the power industry since her 1980 graduation from Ohio University. She holds an MBA from Capital University in Columbus, and is a registered Professional Engineer in State of Ohio, Oregon, Michigan, Washington, Indiana, Iowa, Florida, Nebraska, Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Missouri, California, Maryland, Alabama, Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado, Minnesota, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, West Virginia, Connecticut, Kansas, Tennessee, Wyoming, New Jersey, Nevada, Kentucky, New York, Puerto Rico, and Arizona.
Her career began in consulting, but includes over 14 years with AEP, where she held a variety of Transmission and Distribution, Customer Engineering, and Management positions. At AEP, she helped found and direct the company’s Power Quality function. She re-entered the consulting world in 1995, and furthered her power quality background with a broad range of power quality and system analyses. In 1999, led the design team for the development of the North American version of the Siemens filtered capacitor bank; the “Sipcon T.” In late 1999, she founded her own company, IDC Engineering, which focuses on Power Quality, Power System Analyses, Utility consulting, and more significantly, Arc Flash Studies.
Since 2001, Ms. VanDyne has personally presided over hundreds of Arc Flash studies at industrial facilities for such companies as Honda of America Manufacturing, BASF, Crown Cork & Seal, Cargill, A.O. Smith, Timken, Heinz, Rolls Royce, Nissin Brake, Plastipak, and many, many others, from California, to Florida, and Illinois to Texas. She is married with two children, and currently lives in Portland, NY.Date and Time
