Safety Council Meeting FY25
Join us for our upcoming Safety Council meeting. These monthly meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month at the Neeley Center from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Just a friendly reminder, members of the safety council are required to attend a minimum of 10 meetings during the fiscal year 2025 to qualify for a rebate on their workers' compensation premium.
Topic of this meeting: Hazard Communication, What Employers Should Have in Place
Speaker: Derek Campbell, OSHA Compliance OfficerDerek Campbell is a seasoned industrial hygienist who has dedicated over eleven years to ensuring workplace safety in northwest Ohio. With a strong background in the healthcare, manufacturing, and food production industries, Derek has been a key figure in conducting safety and health inspections for the Toledo OSHA office. His role involves assessing compliance with federal regulations, identifying potential hazards, and advocating for safe working environments.
Derek's journey into industrial hygiene began with a solid educational foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Heidelberg College, where he developed a deep understanding of the sciences. Recognizing the importance of public health, he furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Toledo. This advanced training equipped him with the expertise needed to address complex occupational health challenges.
Throughout his career, Derek has consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving workplace conditions and safeguarding the health of workers across various industries. His extensive experience and educational background make him a valuable asset to the Toledo OSHA office.
