The Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce is set to celebrate the Grand Opening of
Mai’jor Academy with Ribbon Cutting

Mai'jor Academy, a new child care center dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment for children in the Fremont community, is excited to announce its ribbon cutting and grand opening on Thursday, October 17, at 5:00 PM. The event will be held at 304 Mulberry Street in Fremont, Ohio, and the public is invited to celebrate this significant milestone. Founded by Shayla Johnson, whose passion for childcare began as a teenager, Mai'jor Academy offers a “2nd Home For Families,” providing a space where children can learn and grow through play.

Shayla Johnson’s journey in the childcare industry began eight years ago with an in-home licensed childcare program. The families who entrusted their children to her care in those early years remain a part of the program today, a testament to the close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere she has cultivated. “It’s been a dream of mine since I was a teenager to open a child care center,” Johnson shared. “Now that dream is becoming a reality, and it’s exciting that the children who have been with me from the start will experience this new chapter alongside me.”

The grand opening event will feature light refreshments, including hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks, with outdoor seating. As a special treat, all attending children will receive candy bags to celebrate the Halloween season. Mai'jor Academy is eager to welcome more families into their "second home". It looks forward to engaging with the Fremont community through participation in local events and offering family-centered activities in the future.
